A plant-based diet can be as simple or as fancy and exotic as you’d like it to be.
Equipment and Appliances
There’s no doubt, kitchen appliances like high-speed blenders, juicers, food processors, stand mixers, and food dehydrators will open more doors for meals, snacks, accompaniments and drinks you can make.
If affordability and kitchen space permits, we recommend getting the appliances and tools that’ll let you prepare your most favorite meals.
But many of these appliances aren’t strictly necessary for enjoying a plant-based diet.
You can accomplish wonders with just the basic tools:
- Decent knives and cutting boards
- Small, medium and large pots and pans
- Pressure or slow cooker
- Small and large bowls
Food Products and Ingredients
A plant-based diet rarely requires special food products or ingredients—just basic stuff most green grocers, grocery stores and Asian food markets should carry.
The only exception to this, and for the purpose of boosting nutrient intake, is we encourage using some of nature’s most potent plant foods, which you’ll likely have to buy at your local health food store or purchase online.
These may include:
- a variety of edible seaweeds
- maca root as an excellent source of nutrients and minerals
- moringa oleifera for its wide array of nutritious and health-protective benefits
